If you're looking for one solid optical drive that does it all, and is reliable and affordable, then this is likely the only drive that does all that. It reads and writes what appears to be every major standard from CD through DVD through M-Disc and through Blu-Ray. It writes DVD and Blu-Ray at 16x speed. And it is hitting #1 and #2 spots on various reviewer sites. It costs a lot more than a non-Blu-Ray drive, but it is well within reason for a Blu-Ray drive. All this adds up to a major spike in value.

Great drives like this always come out first as full sized 5.25" drives, then some time later as slim drives.
