Each of our PC models pull in the vastly more powerful Intel Coffee Lake Refresh (9th gen) technologies. These are lightyears ahead of Sky Lake & Kaby Lake. Ultra low power, ultra high speed, ultra reliable, ultra convenient. Its a great combination, and will hold considerable value for a long time.
We make use of the undisputed most reliable motherboard brand: ASUS. Any computer distributor with lots of experience will tell you that these motherboards are 5-to-1 more reliable than 2nd best. This is very important. Other brands are good at making one or two technologies reliable. A video card (GPU) for example. But a motherboard is unique in that many technologies must get along together. If you spend an hour combing through motherboard support forums you'll see post after post about how plugging in one thing conflicted with something else. But not with ASUS boards. It requires logistically sound engineering with lots of experience to get all the technologies to work reliably together. In this department ASUS is king. And because reliability is so high on the ladder for determining value, we are very unlikely to ever dip down to 2nd best.
We make use of ultra-reliable DDR4 memory modules from Crucial (40 years experience in computer memory). DDR4 memory is way faster than DDR3. This super speed memory is even faster if you select at least 16GB during checkout.
Intel's internal GPU is now quite advanced, helping us to squeeze even more value into the PC by omitting the 3rd party video card. Intel's iGPU produces 16 million vibrant colors and up to 4K resolution graphics over the HDMI connector. Most PC software titles will work just fine on the Intel iGPU, eliminating the need for a 3rd party GPU.
It is just fast enough to watch a Netflix movie in 4K right out of the box.
But for those that want to expand, we include one ultra high-speed 16 lane PCIe slot (version 3.0). Use it to add a full-height PCIe GPU of up to 11 inches (size matters in this department). This expansion option easily makes possible ultra high-performance HD graphics, because it is compatible with a large number of readily available high-end 3rd party GPU's. The included 500w PSU is more than adequate to power a high-end 3rd party GPU, because a Coffee Lake motherboard only requires 150w.
We include two M.2 connectors, one of which is capable of 2000MB/s transfers, which is the perfect connector to fully gain from some of the newer ultra fast SSD options. This 2000MB/s transfer speed is only possible with this exact version of the H310 chipset.
We include one of the world's most reliable 4TB NAS drives. A NAS drive is designed to run endlessly 24/7 without wearing out. We are convinced that reliability is the most important feature in a hard drive. The NAS drive is connected to one of four SATA3 connectors. You can attach additional internal storage devices to the other three. These connectors operate at speeds of up to 6GB/s each. Intel provides a download for their RST tools, which include RAID, to perform advanced disk storage options such as striping (to speed up access), and mirroring (for data redundancy).
However, you cannot make use of the 2nd SATA3 connector if also using the 2000MB/s M.2 (it internally takes that connection), giving you a total of 3 SATA3 connections if also using that M.2. NAS drives now go up to 16TB each, allowing total expansion to 16TBx3 + 4TBx1 = 52TB.
We include four USB 3.0 (aka USB 3.1 gen 1) ports. These are the de facto standard to connect your external devices, and are capable of up to 5GB/s, and can charge your smartphone. We do not include the cutting-edge USB 3.1 (aka USB 3.1 Gen 2), or Type-C. The world is not yet ready with practical uses for these. 5GB/s is already way faster than just about anything you may wish to connect.
During checkout you may choose to have no OS ("none"), Win7, or Win10 for us to preload and test. You may license it at any time.
A license to use the ASUS Corporate Stable Model (CSM) software suite comes with your PC. It is the world's most advanced motherboard support program, inclusive of its own technical support, and advanced IT grade software to manage devices, fans, drivers, and BIOS upgrades.
